Bryan Adams to perform at quake concert in Pakistan - Yahoo! News

KARACHI (AFP) - Canadian pop singer Bryan Adams is to perform at a fundraising concert for quake victims this month in Karachi, becoming the first Western pop star to play in Pakistan since the start of the 'war on terror,' organisers have announced.

'Bryan is coming to Karachi to perform and help us raise funds for the October 8 earthquake victims,' organiser Salman Iqbal, who heads the private ARY TV channel, told AFP Saturday."

Pakistan heaven for investors

LAHORE: Pakistan is becoming a heaven for foreign investors due to excellent policies adopted by the government.

This was stated by Vice Chairman of Dubai-based Al Ghurair Giga (Pakistan) real estate developer group Amir Pardesi.

While talking to this scribe Amir Pardesi said that investment-friendly environment was prevailing in Pakistan and maximum foreigners were rushing to invest here.

PM launches SeaMeWe-4 submarine cable for Pakistan

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Monday launched the South East Asia Middle East Western Europe (Seamewe)-4 submarine cable system network linking the East to the West.

Speaking on the occasion, he said this cable is yet another milestone in the efforts of international telecommunication service providers to offer reliable and high-speed connectivity. The prime minister pointed out that spanning over three continents, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Western Europe, the high capacity Seamewe-4 will provide more assured and reliable linkage of 'our telecom infrastructure to the world' for which the PTCL has invested $30.41 million as its share. 'We are very proud to be part of such a diverse and ambitious cable system that will benefit millions of people in different countries and continents.'"
